How do you perceive exercise…is it a discipline to be kept, or something refreshing to look forward to?
Even if you love working out, there will be some days you don’t. All the Facebook slogans say that champions push through and do it anyway, but let’s face it, there’s the occasional day your body wants to hit the snooze button, and you do it.
One of the greatest benefits of exercise is keeping stress under control. So why would you want to add to your stress though self-inflicted abuse because you missed a workout or ate an extra piece of cake. Some days you may just choose to enjoy the indulgences of life. As long as it’s not every day, just appreciate your decision, enjoy the cake, and move on.
Overeating certainly adds weight, but so does stress. So keep it at bay by appreciating yourself and the decisions you’ve made. While you should absolutely celebrate the small wins along the way, don’t beat yourself up for the small slip-ups. Appreciating your progress is a process. Enjoy the process.
Compassion for yourself can be as crucial as cardio when it comes to losing weight. It’s all ok.
